We have Homeschool programs at SMM. Even though the Homeschool groups have email list. It takes time for word of mouth about the kids experience to spread. This is year 4 of offering of a Homechool program. We have surveyed the families at the end of each season to help plan the next. Parents do not sit in on class. but we offer a 5-6 YO, 7-9 yoand a 10-13 yo section so most siblings can attend.A few families travel hundreds of miles to the class and visiting other resources in the Twin cities at the same time.

some of these families also attend our weekend family classes for a parent child pair.

We developed a format for our homeschool families this year called Family Learning Days. We offered one day per month through the fall that was designed to promote family learning. Each month's day had a topic that focused on one aspect of science. Topics, pricing and format can be seen on our website at http://www.discoverycenter.org/Programs/HomeSchool.htm. We also included online learning resources. Attendance was OK--definitely not the overflow capacity we had hoped, however! One positive outcome was that we expanded the number of middle and high school aged homeschool participants. I'd be happy to answer any additional questions!

Hello,
Does anyone have a successful family workshop program in place? If so, I
have questions for you:
How much do you charge? How many people does this include?
Does this price include materials?
What elements are required to make a good program: Project based? other?
What time of day is best?
How long do they run?

Any insight would be helpful!

Thanks in advance for your responses...
