ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hello. My name is Kate Long and I work for the California Science Center.
Before coming to the Science Center, I worked as a disaster planner for FEMA
and managed disaster recovery grants for the State of California.

For the next ASTC conference, I am proposing a breakout session on Disaster
Planning, Response and Recovery. For the session to be truly informative, I
would like to have input and panelists from institutions that have actually
come through a disaster situation, either immidate or regional. If your museum
(or a colleague’s) has experienced damage from a flood, fire, or other disaster
that impacted your collections, facility, or audience base; please give me a
call. I would appreciate hearing your opinions on what would make this
session beneficial. And, if you plan to attend the Los Angeles conference, I
would like to talk to you about joining this panel.

Regards,
Kate Long
