* Early Bird Registration Date for the Fifth Science Centre World Congress
is March 30, 2008 *

There is less than a month remaining to save $100 on registration for the
Fifth Science Centre World Congress (5SCWC). Delegate fees are $700 for
registrations received before the early bird deadline of March 30, 2008.
After this date, registration is $800 ($900 on site). To register for the
congress and receive the Early Bird discount, visit the official congress
website: http://www.5scwc.org/. Congress registration will be capped at
1,000 delegates.

With just three months to go, most of the program for the 5SCWC has been
finalized. Some 37 of 50 approved parallel program sessions are now listed
on the website, and the remaining sessions will be confirmed and listed by
the end of March. Details about plenary sessions will be posted shortly. The
diversity of topics and session leaders is spectacular, and all are invited
to attend the Congress and to personally experience this exciting program
firsthand. Some examples of session topics include:

* Experts from outdoor science parks in Israel, India, Finland, the U.S. and
Canada present a panel discussion entitled "Outdoor Science Parks:
Connecting and Engaging Visitors with Planet Earth." This session will
feature science centre and environmental education leaders from four
continents describing their experience in connecting and engaging visitors
with outdoor environmental programs and exhibits relating to planet earth.

* Within the sub-theme of "Citizen Engagement and Social Responsibility," a
four-member panel will be discussing how science centres are evolving and
becoming more relevant to the general public. "The Science Centre Evolution:
Becoming More Relevant to More People," will be chaired by Alan Brien,
(SciTech, Perth, Australia).

* The Role of Science Centres in Building the Future has resonance across
every continent. Four leaders from four very different nations will talk
about their own institutions' experiences in the session "Science Centres as
Facilitators for Peace."

There will also be three "Behind the Scenes" tour offerings on Tuesday
afternoon: (1) visit the Ontario Science Centre to meet its talented staff
and learn about the recent "Agents of Change" transformation, their
curriculum-linked school programs, and their fabrication facilities; (2) see
the MaRS Centre, Ontario's innovation and research hub; and (3) experience
the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), Canada's largest museum of world cultures
and natural history, which is undergoing a major expansion and renovation.
At the conclusion of the Congress in Toronto, delegates are invited to
continue the conference at Science North in Sudbury, Ontario. The
day-and-a-half-long program will feature sessions on community involvement,
immersive visitor experiences and behind the scenes tours.

This is a chance of a lifetime to visit world-class science centres, gain
industry knowledge, and network with colleagues. Stay tuned for ongoing news
and program updates by visiting www.5SCWC.org.
