ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Pat's message about SMM's statement about climate science, and Charlie's
earlier post about sea level rise, prompt me to share a resource I've been
finding invaluable.

Climate Access (www.climateaccess.org) describes itself as a "network for
those engaging the public in the transformation to low-carbon, resilient
communities." There are rich resources about climate communication and, if
you join the site, access to free webinars with leading communicators (like
Joe Witte, known to many in the informal science education field).
Yesterday, for example, there was a phone-in conference that included the
lead science writer for the 3rd National Climate Assessment, which was just
released in draft form. I have taken away from these events very clear
advice about how to communicate, based on sound science, including sound
social science.

No doubt many of you already participate. If not, I'd recommend it.
Wendy
