Hi, Wendy -

I'm enjoying the workshop about Fostering Dialogue. I have to say that this
is an area in which I have much to learn, and I am finding much to be
stimulated by in the discussions. I particularly appreciate your syntheses
of the discussions thus far.

I am interested in the Understanding Vistors' Ideas workshop, too. I think I
might have more to contribute to that workshop because I've been
reading/writing/thinking/learning about what it means to learn in science
centers. If you think I would be a good addition to the workshop, please
count me in.

Bill

Staff of ASTC-member institutions are invited to participate in a free
two-week online workshop, beginning February 6 on ASTC Connect.
"Understanding Visitors' Ideas: Cosmic Conversations," moderated by Mary
Dussault of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, will introduce
a simple astronomy-based activity to open up conversations about our own
learning and that of our visitors. This activity, which has been used to
explore and include visitors' ideas in exhibit and program development
(including development of the traveling exhibition Cosmic Questions), can be
applied to other subjects. If interested, set up an account at
www.astc.org/astc_connect, then contact me for access to the workshop area,
where you'll find advance reading. Time requirements are modest; you should
be able to participate if you can be online once a day and have three or
four half-hour periods to carry out the activities.

Wendy
