ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

The 'educational' goal has historically almost always been the hook
for funding, even though historically most of us fib.....does this
sound familar? "Visitors to this exhibit will learn......" how many
of us actually have a clue as to what, if anything, is being
learned? surely not what most of us claim. thanks to our dedicated
professionals who actually look at this stuff, we know more about
what is going on than we did 10 or 15 years ago, but lets admit that
most funding proposals that state educational goals are as much smoke
and mirrors as any other part of the exhibition plan.

Another approach, as Remy seems to be pursuing is: there is a
resource over here that has something and there's a resource over
there that needs something. Where is the overlap? In other words,
if I have several exhibit topics that would fit my community needs,
vis a vis educational, infrastructural, etc., which of those topics
am I most likely to be able to fund?

Josh, thanks for opening this can of worms for me :)

Before anyone completely flames me, please note the careful use of
the word 'most' several times in the first paragraph....
