ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

We have an exhibit that uses a 24 volt fan to blow sandblasting sand
into dunes, channels, and other landforms. The fan is housed within the
sandscape itself, and over time, the fan becomes gunked with the
sandblasting sand (which is actually a fine-grained glass) and burns
out. Does anyone know of a fan that would achieve the same results but
not burn out, or does anyone know of a sand that behaves as nicely as
the sandblasting sand but wont gunk up the fan?
