How about turning this around into an opportunity to tap the interest and energy of these photographers? You could create a Flickr pool and invite people to contribute, then feature the photos on your website. I see that you have a Facebook page - how about inviting people to become fans and tag photos so they show up there? How about running a contest for the best photos through the seasons and producing a calendar to give your members, or cards to sell? Amateur photographers like to get their work out and would probably be thrilled. There are good models out there, like Project for Public Spaces and Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Hi all,
We have a historic structure with three seriously huge water pumps. Despite the fact that we are not scheduled to open until March, the photographers have discovered us. This is a good thing, that means the word is out.

However, we want to make sure that we at least retain copyright for all the images. If someone is going to make postcards of our stuff, I'd like us to get a cut of it (oh, Jeez, I've become a bureaucrat!). Anybody have experience in this area?

Thank,
B.
