ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

We have scissors attached by cabling to the project table (in an enclosed
"art room" with paint easels as well) They can still cut paper but never
wander far enough to damage exhibits. We use kid scissors (rounded tips and
such so kids can safely use them) and have had no problems. We also leave
glue in the same project area on occasion. Staff need to check regularly to
replace caps and tidy up all the small paper scraps but the kids really love
it and create some really great stuff. We only staff the area when the
projects are more invloved to need facilitation. Usually the projects are
self-directed.
