______________

Dear Collogue,

The Astronomical Society of the Pacific and National Optical Astronomy
Observatories and other partners would like a few minutes of your time to
help us serve you better! We received funding from the National Science
Foundation to develop and offer comprehensive training and educational
materials for small and medium size nature and science centers¹ staff and
volunteers. The training and materials aim to increase understanding of
basic astronomy concepts and to help informal science educators effectively
translate cutting-edge astronomy discoveries in the news.

To access the survey, please visit
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=181771029388. To make sure this project
meets your needs, we need some information from you in your function as
informal science educator, whether or not you currently include astronomy in
your educational programming.

If you complete the survey by May 4th, your name will be entered to win a
signed copy of Learning from Museums: Visitor Experiences and the Making of
Meaning by John H. Falk and Lynn D. Dierking.

With thanks for your interest and assistance,

Michael Bennett (ASP)
Stephen Pompea (NOAO)

If you have questions about the survey, or the project please do not reply
to this email, but feel free to contact Christina de Leon at the ASP, by

The non-profit Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP) is one of the
nation's leading organizations devoted to astronomy and space science
education. www.astrosociety.org

Thanks!
