ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute
of Popular Science operated a planetarium,
observatory, and science center/museum in a 40,000
square-foot building, with about 30 full-time
employees [plus many part-time employees and
volunteers] from 1939 to 1991.

During the evening laser-light concerts in the
original Buhl Planetarium [Thursday through Sunday
evenings] we employed a "special-detail" [i.e. special
contract] Pittsburgh Police Officer. Otherwise, we did
not employ special security staff.

A Floor Supervisor is exactly the title of the person
responsible for the building during public hours.
These floor supervisors [many were college students
who worked part-time] reported to a Floor Manager.
