For galleries there are stacking stools of all sorts available.  My favorites are the plywood ones with three bent ply legs. They stack well and are both sturdy and attractive.  But there are many other metal, plastic and combinations available.

I would stay away from folding chairs. They can be a hazard to little kids who have an uncanny ability to fold them up on themselves, pinching fingers and freaking out their parents.
