Martin,
There are 337 science centers and museums in the United States among
ASTC's current membership (altogether, there are 414 member museums in
39 countries). At the time of our last member survey, 99 U.S.
institutions reported total attendance of 34.5 million; extrapolating
(using median figures for different sized institutions), we estimated
total U.S. attendance at 70.2 million. The attendance data is in the
ASTC Sourcebook of Science Center Statistics 2002. Member numbers are as
of December 2003.
