Jason,

In a former position I used many of these portable devices. One of the best proved to be the products of Anchor Audio. I would recommend the MiniVox as small portable unit that delivers good sound quality and volume. There are some smaller hip units that work, but the sound quality is usually poor.

We are looking for recommendations for good quality (durability, sound,
comfort) waistband amplifiers or other types of portable amplifiers that
work well for staff performing demonstrations. We don't want to connect
to a PA system (which we don't have) but want something that allows the
presenter to move freely around the exhibit floor as needed to present
demonstrations and be well heard. These would be used by both our
gallery staff and our visitor services staff. We'd love to hear your
thoughts, recommendations and experiences. Feel free to contact me off
the list if you wish.

Thanks much,

Jason Archer
