ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

Greetings! Limited spaces are available for this and applications are
accepted on a first-come first-served basis; we would love to have
interested science center and museum education staff who work with the
"tween" audiences -particularly rural audiences-attend!

Explore: Jupiter's Family Secrets (Staff in Pennsylvania, Delaware,
Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia Only)
May 21-22, 2012
Schlow Centre Region Library in State College, PA

Over the next two years, the Lunar and Planetary Institute will offer
several free NASA two-day workshops with multiple pre-teen activities
about the Solar System for out-of-school settings in Pennsylvania,
Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, starting with one May
21-22 in State College, Pennsylvania. Although the primary audience is
children's and youth librarians, these workshops are intended to foster
collaboration and sustainable partnerships with other community
organizations within this region, including science centers and museums!
All participants will

*	Meet NASA scientists and learn about the Juno mission to Jupiter

*	Participate in hands-on activities designed for youth programs
in a library or park setting
*	Explore ideas for presenting space science programs to a
pre-teen audience
*	Receive copies of all of the activities and a $350 stipend
(available for 25 participants on a first-come-first-accepted basis) for
completing the workshop.

The application is available at
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/education/explore/workshops/pa2012 . For further
information, please see the flyer (attached and available to download at
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/forum/education/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=304) or

The Explore program is designed to help you bring earth and space
science to your communities through fun and engaging hands-on
activities. For more information about the Explore program, please
