Well, much of her research involves toddlers, and one of her points—that I think is very relevant to ISE-- is that babies/toddlers are very good scientists and it may be as they grow into children that they are "discouraged" from their innate science habits of knowing the world. Her ideas correlating a Bayesian model to baby/toddler brains is very interesting, and her ideas on learning strategies for early learners is very much applicable to program/content design. She is an excellent speaker, by the way -

We are trying to develop a number of areas and exhibition components for early learners, and I'd love to hear her speak specifically about how she would apply her theories to ISE design to foster more of the scientist in early learners.

Cheers!
Carlyn

[snark alert] better than an intel geek...
seriously alison has some really wonderful research that she presents about early childhood learning. Her focus is on the youngest kids, so I am not sure that it is keynote material.

Wow – I would really love to hear Gopnik talk about informal science education and early learners. A keynote sounds perfect.
