The ISEN list certainly (often) has strong themes on issues, philosophical approaches, and self reflection, professional development..
(all of which are good).

For those looking for a list that tends to feed the other side of the brain ( deal with the details of exhibits bits and pieces) there is always the BIG list (British Interactives Group), which tends to have more activity relating to exhibit specifics.. The last few threads have been on
interactibe landscapes, cloud chambers, small video screens for exhibitions, stethescopes with speakers, oh and in the last week 157 posts about what happens when you drop a menthos mint into diet coke ( not to be attemped in doors)... so even that list can dwell on a good topic quiet a bit.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks very much for your spirited response to Phil's comments. Sure
there are topics that get a bit long-winded but we do have the delete
button. I have a colleague who even was able to program his computer to
automatically delete any message with the words "intelligent design" or
"evolution" in the subject line when he got tired of reading things on
this subject. The point is we all are interested in different things and
sometimes these ramblings can make us think.

Thanks,

John Bowditch

Gee, phil, that was kind of harsh.....

A modest suggestion: if there's a topic you're not interested in,
there's a
delete button. Or, you can set your subscription to digest.

I, for one, love the variety of topics and the passion people bring to
them.
I'm not a bureaucrat, a design firm, a graduate student - just an
exhibit
grunt at heart, who is most fascinated by the notion of lifelong
learning,
whether in the role of a professional or as a visitor.

One thing that makes this community so rich is the variety of people who
inhabit it.
