Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

 From this September, The Centre for Life (www.life.org.uk[1]) in
partnership with Northumbria University in Newcastle Upon Tyne, one of the
UK's most vibrant cities, will be offering an MSc course on Public
Engagement with Science, taught jointly by staff from both institutions.

Designed to equip students for a career as public engagement professionals,
this course will have a particular emphasis on doing so through the medium
of science centres and related approaches to engagement. It will cover
areas such as running events, developing and performing science shows,
creating exhibitions, management and running education programmes as well
as looking at the wider spectrum of engagement, its history and the use of
broadcasting, social media and other techniques used by the profession.

It would be ideal for anyone wishing to gain the skills to begin a career
in public engagement and who has already had some voluntary involvement in
the sector or has some initial working experience as an explainer or
similar. International students, are, of course, welcome.
