ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hello all -

We'd like to encourage you to participate in the March 13 IPY- ASTC/IGLO
Interactive Videoconference. In this first-ever event of its kind, seven
science centers worldwide from Mexico, Beijing, Melbourne, Chicago, Lisbon,
Cardiff, and Alexandria (Egypt), will connect students and leading polar
scientists for a dialogue about climate change over two sessions: 12:00 a.m.
(midnight) GMT and 1:00 p.m. GMT. Even if your institution is not actively
involved, we encourage you to watch the live stream or archived video at
http://commonsvcg.oar.net/MAGPI/. This event was made possible through a
partnership with NASA and MAGPI, an Internet2 consortium.

Active participants are using this opportunity to create additional programs
for local audiences. Others such as Technopolis, Mechelen, Belgium; MTN
ScienCentre, Cape Town, South Africa; Citta della Scienza, Naples, Italy;
and more will screen the videoconference for a live audience.

Background information on the polar scientists as well as resources
contributed by each participating institution can be found in a section of
the IGLO Toolkit <http://atmospheres.gsfc.nasa.gov/iglo/view_cat.php?cid=22>
dedicated to this event. Questions for these scientists can be submitted to
[log in to unmask] Every effort will be made to answer as many
of them as possible during videoconference. If you do decide to organize
event (showing the live streaming in public for example), let us know how it
went and send us photos - we'd love to publish it in an upcoming issue of
the IGLO Newsletter.

We hope you'll tune in - should you have any questions about this web cast,
please contact us at <mailto:[log in to unmask]> [log in to unmask] or visit

Have a good day,

Walter Staveloz
