Wait a minute ... if the Representatives are elected by the people, and one party has the majority of Representatives (not to mention a majority of votes cast), then how exactly is this a "minority"?

But then, that's the beauty of our system: majorities can't just steamroll everyone else. (Well, they did, once, in December 2009.  We can see where that got them.)  We've all got to play together.  One side has been doing their part, passing resolutions, stating their willingness to negotiate. The other side is acting like spoiled children, refusing to cooperate, insisting on getting their way, and not caring who they hurt in the process.  Literally.  Kids with cancer?  Why should we care?
