ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I am interested in hearing from other smallish museums/science centers
(20 to 30K sq ft, 15-25 employees...or thereabouts) on the following
staffing issues:

	1) Do you employ a security guard on site during public daytime
hours?

	2) Do you employ a "floor supervisor", someone who opens and
closes the facility, turns on the exhibits/lights, and walks the floor
throughout the day to identify any facility/exhibit problems as they
occur and also to direct & assist patrons.

	3) Do you employ a combination of 1 and 2?

I would even appreciate hearing from you if the answer is No to all
three, because I'd like to know why not: not enough dollars, other
staff members/volunteers perform those functions, your staffing model is
radically different, etc.

You may wish to reply to me offline so we don't bore the others. As
always, I appreciate the experience and wisdom of this group!
