Hello All -
I am doing some research for an article I am writing in "Science Activities" for elementary science teachers. I am suggesting novel and creative ways that teachers can connect with museums using technology. I think most teachers use our sites for field trip planning, but I would like to suggest ways they can dig a little deeper.
I plan to mention in-exhibit computer interactives, content delivered to mobile phones or PDA's, podcasting and audioguides. I would particularly like to highlight on-line or in-exhibit opportunities that allow students to connect with collections, original source documents or actual data that they could view.
If your museum is doing something new and interesting specifically for teachers or the school audience using technology, or you know another museum which I should know about please reply to me off-list. I plan to mention specific web sites and projects in my article.
Thanks in advance!
