I have used Galileoscopes with middle schoolers in public astronomy
programs and class visits. Even a small group of developmentally
disabled teens were able to put them together with one-on-one
assistance. The trickiest part for them is figuring out the lens
configuration. We found the directions on the website easier to follow
than the directions in the kit.

I would recommend having tripods available, or the kids have a lot of
trouble seeing anything through them.

I would greatly appreciate any reports about use of the Galileoscopes
that
were produced in connection with International Year of Astronomy.

I'm interested in hearing from people with actual experience using them
with public/family or school/youth audiences. What did you do? Lessons
learned? Recommendations?

Many thanks and best wishes for success,
