Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Hi all-

Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY is just finishing up a traveling exhibition on
watersheds, funded by NOAA. Our goals included having visitors
understand the science of watersheds, what makes a watershed healthy,
and how science can improve watersheds. There is a strong advocacy
strand to encourage visitors to be inspired to consider and seek out
ways that they can learn more about their watershed, and be empowered to
see what by doing simple things they can be part of a long-term solution
to protecting vital watershed resources.

You can see photos and learn more at:

http://www.sciencenter.org/oceanbound/

Visitors can go on a journey through watersheds to see how everyone's
actions affect the health of our ocean. They can interact with 3-D
watershed models, "pilot" a full-size submersible from mountain stream
to ocean, guide "water" safely through a hazardous maze, divert
"pollutants" as they travel through stormwater drains, and more.

The accompanying educational programming materials (almost-finalized)
are on the website too. Later this spring we'll have the last few
exhibits done, and do a video shoot and more photos to add to the website.
