ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I am a mostly retired RN and current museum worker. A large ring-shaped
strong magnet is placed on the chest of a patient with a certain type of
pacemaker to switch the stimulating characteristics of the pacemaker. It
does not damage it or turn it off. As someone pointed out, a simple warning
that magnets are in use should be sufficient.
