Please consider submitting a proposal to Strand 6 (Science Learning in Informal Contexts) of the annual international conference (this year in Puerto Rico!) of NARST, the National Association for Research in Science Teaching.  I can say without a doubt that you'll find a great community at this conference, smart folks who are insightful with their feedback and gracious with their time.  The Journal of Research in Science Teaching (JRST) is NARST's premier research journal, and this is a great venue for vetting ideas that you might later submit for publication in JRST.
