Stephanie,
You may find ideas and names in the forum called "Working with Scientists & Engineers," part of the online learning center ASTC Connect, at connect.astc.org. The forum grows out of VolTS (Volunteers TryScience), a collaborative project of the New York Hall of Science, led by Eric Marshall, which is aimed at increasing and strengthening connections between science centers and research scientists. Discussions coming up in the forum in the next 2-3 months will be about a working paper on "public engagement with science" (to be released shortly by the Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education here in DC) and another based on the Pacific Science Centers' "Portal to the Public" project (http://www.pacsci.org/portal/). Feel free to join up!
Wendy
