The July/August 2004 issue of ASTC Dimensions (see
www.astc.org/pubs/dimensions/2004/july-aug/index.htm) was devoted to
"Science for Early Learners." Although no contributing institution was
running the kind of daycare program you describe, the issue covered a
variety of exhibit areas and programs for very young children and included a
list of resources.

extension to our science center.  Does anyone know of a precedence for 
such a venture, whereby the science center manages a full child care 
business and after school program, in conjunction with our regular 
education program, outreach component, and collaboration with local 
school districts.  References to articles on the subject would be 
appreciated.
