Hi Preeti,

At the California Academy of Sciences, we have two programs which cover those criteria: Careers in Science and Student Science Fellows.

http://www.calacademy.org/youthprograms/

Careers in Science is a multi-year, broad program, where science work is a part of a larger experience where students learn science, teach science to others and conduct research. Student Science Fellows conduct research and communicate their results.

Kind regards,
Renny

Hello:

Does your place have a program where youth work closely with scientists and conduct authentic science research? I am specifically searching for programs where youth spend more than 50 hours working with the scientist, the program is based out of the museum, the youth have to communicate the work they did in some sort of paper or presentation, and the program is specifically designed for youth who may not ordinarily have access to such opportunities. So far I only know of us at AMNH, Yale Peabody and Smithsonian.
