With earth day coming relatively soon, my wife has asked me to do a
plastics recycling demonstration for a local community center. I used to
have a written demonstration for a set of 4 fluids that would do a great
job of separating the six different types of plastics in the recycling
system. If I remember correctly, it called for 10:7 ethanol:water; 1:1
ethanol:water; distilled water; and a salt solution. Does anyone have
any ideas what the salt solution composition was? Was it 10 g salt to
100 ml of water?
Also, does anyone want to swap/suggest/circulate demonstrations on using
science to improve the environment?
Regards,
Tom.
