We have just installed a bank of ipads in a new exhibition.

We will be watching closely to see how they go, both on how they visitors engage with the ipads, but also how the ipads impact on their visit to the gallery (ie does it enhance or detract from the surrounding objects, graphics and other interactives).

We have been using Ipads informally with visitors for a few months now and they have been a great tool for a different kind of visitor engagement.  Mostly we have used them for one on one interaction with apps such as Touch Physics, Gravity, Planets etc, with a few innovations using a portable projector attached.   I am curious to hear how other science centres have used Ipads in innovative ways, as they seem to have been made for our field and I feel the use at our centre may only be scratching the surface.
