We have also used SurveyMonkey.com for online surveys and it does have a
number of handy features. There are other similar online survey tools out
there that perhaps others can speak to. However, in order to do in-depth
data analysis, statistical software is really what you need. We use SPSS
(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). It's not cheap and there is
a learning curve if you are unfamiliar with statistical software, but SPSS
or something similar is really what you need to get the most out of your
data.

programs ARE used for data analysis at science centers and what purpose
they serve. For instance, we have used surveymonkey.com for
online-based survey creation, distribution and collection of pre and
