George

we have three 'lung exhibits'
* a torso with 2 lungs: one lung is large and red (healthy), the other
dark and smaller (smoker lung), by pushing handles you can make them
'breath', of course the red one breaths easier than the other one
* a torso with stethoscope: you can listen to sounds of healthy
breathing, smokers (and somelung diseases)
* you can breath into a cilinder which shows the volume of your breath

Does anyone know of any good exhibits, or have any ideas for some, that
demonstrate the hazards of smoking - e.g. "tar" buildup on "lung tissue",
emphysema, tumours, etc? I am looking for ideas for relatively simple,
sturdy exhibits to take on the road and engage students in learning about
the health issues surrounding tobacco use.

Thanks!
