Hello Rebecca -

At PRI, the Museum of the Earth and Cayuga Nature Center we have an Evaluation Team, which meets bi-weekly/as needed to (a) assess evaluation needs for the institution (usually based on programming/exhibitions/grants/events planned 6 mos - 1 year out), (b) to plan, design, implement, summarize and report out on any in-house evaluation, and (c) to train staff and volunteers to implement interview and observation-style evaluations. We have a Statement of Procedure for the institution on this – a basic protocol for understanding when evaluation is needed, what types of evaluation we do in–house, and what the institutional procedure is, from assessing the need to crunching the numbers.

Does any of that help?

Cheers -
Carlyn

Hi Everyone:
Right now I'm working on a document for our center that will detail all of
our evaluation efforts for the coming year. I'm wondering if any
comparable centers have a plan like this that lists out each evaluation
effort (type of instrument, question it hopes to answer, department, method
of getting it out, etc) you use to guide your policies/content. Anyone
willing to share something like this with me?
Thanks,
Rebecca Prosino
