Aloha everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know about a symposium on climate change that
is being held at the Exploratorium in San Francisco this coming week,
with an opening reception on Sunday April 5 and sessions on Monday and
Tuesday April 6-7. The event is produced by ECHO (Education through
Cultural and Historical Organizations), a Department of Education-funded
partnership.

A couple of ways to plug in to this event:

1. Museum professionals are welcome to attend any sessions they wish at
the Exploratorium itself. Please RSVP by Friday April 3 (by 5 PM
Eastern Daylight Time) to Merry Glosband (Peabody Essex Museum). Merry's
e-mail: [log in to unmask]

2. Six of these sessions on Monday/Tuesday will be webcast. These
sessions are so-indicated on the agenda below. You can go and view
these webcasts at the following Exploratorium site:
www.exploratorium.edu/webcasts

The session from 11 AM - 12 Noon PDT on Tuesday April 7 may be of
particular interest to the ASTC community, since it focuses on
communicating climate change to the general public. Leon Geschwind of
Bishop Museum will discuss the current ASTC Communicating Climate Change
initiative as part of that presentation.

Yours,

Mike
