Ran across this pic today - thought it worth sharing with those of us  
that remember one of the early exploratirum light exhibits that  
featured chromed christmas tree balls, where the light gets trapped  
below the visual equator of the bulbs and goes completely black for  
the viewer.  Wasn't it one of Joe Ansel's?

The designers claim they got their inspiration from elsewhere :)
