Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Can anyone refer me to studies that document whether or not and how a museum visit prompts a child to do any followup activities at home? For example, does experiencing museum exhibits on sound prompt any experimentation with sound when the kid gets home? We all know anecdotally that this happens (at least with my kids) but are there any studies?
Thanks,
Barbara
