I am posting the following on behalf of a college intern I have working for
me this semester. Please send any responses directly to her at
[log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> . Thank you for any
assistance you can give with her project.

I am an undergraduate college student and am conducting my biology education
honors research within the Camps Programs of Whitaker Center for Science and
the Arts. This program provides daytime and overnight experiences for scouts
which relate to badge requirements. My research focuses on the constraints
of implementing student assessment in this setting, and evaluating to what
degree specific assessment strategies comply with these constraints. I am
looking for feedback on the following questions. Any experience, opinion,
research or references you can provide would be most helpful. Thanks!

1. What methods or strategies for student assessment have you
implemented within an informal educational setting? What worked well? What
didn't? Why did/didn't these strategies work?
2. What problems have you had when trying to assess students within the
informal educational settings?
3. Do you know of any research done regarding assessment in informal
learning settings which I could access?

Camp Programs Coordinator
