Hi Bobby,

I'm a crossover from the history museum world (was a curator at Henry Ford Museum for many years). Are you familiar with ALFAM (Association of Living History Farms and Museums)? If not, try getting in contact with them and some of their members. Someone out there can help you I'm sure.

Good Luck!

John Bowditch
Exhibits Director

> We have a pioneer homestead showing farm life in Northwest Florida in the late 1800's (log cabin, gristmill, barn, smokehouse) and I don't currently have enough volunteers to present a living history program (which I'd love to do) but I did just get funding for 4 digital audio recorders (press the button and hear a 3 minute recording) to go in each of these buildings.
> My next step is to write a script telling about life on the farm during this period and how the structure (cabin, smokehouse, etc.) fit into everyday life. Since we're a children's museum I was thinking of using a boy or girl to do the recording from their point of view.... does anyone happen to already have a script written that we could modify for our use? I don't want to invest the time if someone's already invented this "wheel" plus I know there are lots of folks out there that are much more qualified to do this than I am. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We use standard museum coding for our actual artifacts but have found that the long number on the reproductions we use for living history (1st person) tend to generate a lot of questions from the kids. This makes it hard to stay in character. Any ideas would be appreciated.
