The Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich VT is selling its one-of-a-
kind exhibit prototype, "The Universe by Powers of Ten", based upon the
1977 short documentary film by Charles and Ray Eames depicting the
relative scale of the universe by factors of ten. The exhibit consists
of 63 hand-crafted modules (many internally-illuminated) demonstrating
successive scales based upon powers of 10. At the right-hand end of the
exhibit is a real book; at the left-hand end of the exhibit is a model
of the cosmos, a billion light-years across.

The exhibit is a stunning example of custom modelmaking, and is a
mysterious and exciting glimpse of the magnitude of the universe. The
modules each measure about 4" wide by 8" high by 12" deep.

The exhibit's electrical and lighting systems need work. See the eBay
auction description for more information on the condition of the exhibit
and its size, and for details on the conditions of the sale.

The exhibit would need to be removed from the museum in Norwich, Vermont
by January 8, 2007.
