Actually I'm comfortable with the term "Hands-on, Minds On". I think it
is short, to the point, and most people realize what it means, that when
you are physically involved the odds are greater that your mind is
engaged in what you are doing. As Bob Russell indicated, the objective
is to get the person involved in the aspects of what is being
demonstrated in an effective means. Just having a button to push does
not necessarily do it. If child/student/adult is pushing a button, but
isn't staying around long enough for the button to pop up, then it may
be interactive, but it is not effective, i.e. hands-on, mind off on
something else such as how many buttons can be pushed in a set time.
