Unless you have a special event that gets good publicity, I'd say don't
bother. We tried it this year for the first time and while not a complete
bust, it did not warrant the holiday pay we had to dish oout to the staff to
be open not to mention the good will of making some people work. It's just
not a museum going day.

Having been closed on New Years Day for many years, we are considering 
whether there is sufficient audience interest to open for this holiday 
(we are currently closed only three days a year: Thanksgiving, 
Christmas and New Years day). For those who are open on this day, what 
is your experience with attendance? Do you hold any special events or 
promotions to enhance attendance that day?
