Session Proposal ASTC 2012, Museum Labs: Separate Yet Equal?

I would like to propose a session for ASTC 2012 about spaces whose programming options and exhibits are independent from their museum's/center's main exhibits.

I want to know...
Are these spaces treated as separate, yet equal in relation to their parent institution? Do these spaces have more of an advantage in discussing, and, or empowering visitors to take scientific actions or make scientifically informed decisions? Do these spaces have more of an advantage in creating community partnerships? What innovations (museum professional or visitor related) are made in these spaces that might not have been concluded in another type of museum setting?

For anyone interested please email me off the list serv.

Warm Regards,
Kristin Bayans
