Ben-

There is growing momentum for museums to be involved in public programming at events outside of their facility. Science cafes and science festivals are examples I happen to be involved in, but there are many others as well. This seems to me to be an evolving part of the "redefinition of museums": perhaps suggesting that museums at times have a calling to serve their community by reaching out to audiences in public venues.
