We used chicken grit #2, a medium sized grit that can be easily blocked
with screens from getting into the pump. It still showed landforms and
was a great color. We buy it at feed stores. Has anyone had trouble
keeping diatomaceous earth out of pumps?

Thank you. I'll look into it.

I have used diatomaceous earth in the past and really liked the results.

Hello,

We are working on a new stream table and are wondering what medium you
found to be most useful; walnut shells, sand, or something? What are the
advantages and disadvantages of each.

What method do you use to resurface /re-level the material on the table?
Do you have an automatic system that flushes the table ever so often or
are you not concerned with leveling it?

Thank you,

Donna
