We have recently excavated several Spanish Colonial sites in the El Paso,
Texas, area, and have had discussions with Patricia Fournier about recent
work at Carrizal in northern Chihuahua.  There are numerous green-glazed
ceramics from all sites.  Gerald defines a Guanajuato green-glazed with a
brown/red paste; Barnes defines a generic green-glazed type with light red
to light brown paste, with no temper. Fournier's specimen from Carrizal has
a white porous paste, as do several specimens from Ysleta and San Elizario,
with forms including both jars and bowls, always glazed on both sides.
Does anybody know more about these things?
