A member of 'Time Team' is on this list. She was on that show but is also an
archaeologist. I work in radio & television & weather, but do not have the
archaeology knowledge as she does. She has a good feel all around for these
new reality shows and how they affect archaeology.
We do produce archaeology DVDs (some for broadcast, and some programs
straight to DVD). As you mentioned, 'Time Team' began in the 90s. That show
has kept the standard it started with high. But, in new television shows
being made today, the bottom-line is that reality shows are very cheap to
make, and television has a lot of competition now with other media. (Not
only the internet but competition within television with so many more small
networks and stations now!)
