Hi,

I am trying to find information regarding the earliest scientifically
proven uses of indigoid compounds as dyes or pigments (in the form of
indigo, woad or tyrian purple). I have some info about tyrian purple
being found on pottery shards originating from the Late Bronze Age. The
use of these colouring agents as textile dyes especially interests me. I
would appreciate any assistance available. Please e-mail me at:

Thanks
