would now like to expand the usefulness of this site -- both to
professional archaeologists and to the general public. Any
ideas/brainstorms would be greatly appreciated. >>

Several ideas: Would it be possible to post the membership list with
addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, emails? Of course, those who don't
want it printed could say (as they do in the published form in the newletter)
that they don't want theirs on there. I am always having a hard time finding
my once a year newsletter that carries that information. It would be nice to
have it on the web page for retrieval. ACRA has such a list on its web page.

Another good feature would be to have more links to useful resources for
historic archaeologists (and there are lots out there and more all the time in
archives, museums, libraries, etc.). The Society for California Archaeology
and ACRA Web pages are loaded with these things - very useful (see
<http://www.scanet.org> and <http://www.mindspring.com/~wheaton/ACRA.html>).

What about expanding the publications available? Of course that could require
some capital investment, but maybe its worth it. OCTA (Oregon California
Trails Assocation) does a good business on its "on line bookstore" - see
<http://calcite.rocky.edu/octa/bookstor.htm>.

Just some thoughts.
