Ron, Are you putting us on in your suggestion we dissolve plastic straws

for analysis by chemists?

Plastic drinking straws are pictured in an advertisement for Allied

Plastics in 1943.

The caption under a tray of tall drinks reads “At REST as at work, plastics

will brighten your everyday live – cool, refreshing drinks in colorful

plastic glasses – straws and trays”
